Our experienced guides provide a bespoke tour of the Moot Hall, taking you through 600 years of history. From 1420 when Sir Robert D’arcy first commissioned the medieval brick tower as part of his fine mansion through to the many civic functions and ceremonies it still hosts today. The climb to the top of the tower is well worth the effort. You will be rewarded with a 360⁰ view from the highest vantage point in the town. There is much to explore and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Guided Tours of the Moot Hall take place every day during the half term Monday 31st May to Sunday 6th June, at 11am and 12.30 Then weekly every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from March to October (unless there is a ceremony taking place). The Moot Hall is a Grade I listed building. The upper floors are reached by narrow winding stairways. Please note: disabled access is limited to the ground floor for wheel chair users.
Private Tours & Group Tours
Private Visits: Enjoy having The Moot Hall to yourselves by booking a private tour. If there is a certain aspect of the history or building that interests you, your guide will be able to tailor your private tour to your preferences.
Group Tours: An ideal outing for a society or business with up to 25 in a group.
Prices dependent on group size, starting from £45.
