Committee Room and Mayor’s Parlour

The ground floor room is the largest of the three rooms with a very lofty ceiling. The walls are mostly red brick with shoulder high panels capped by a wide dado rail. At one end a short flight of stairs leads to the Mayor’s Parlour, on the opposite side there is an entrance to the truly unique brick built winding stairway, set in a defensive tower, which extends the full height of the Moot Hall.
