Another successful year!

The Friends of the MOOT HALL held the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the building on 16th October 2018. The Chairman, Marie Belsey reported on another year of success for the team with increased visitor foot-fall, Eight Weddings, new tour initiatives, the availability of WI-FI, a strong balance sheet and sharing in events in the Maldon Community.

Officers and Committee members were elected with some roles changing and vacancies being created in the team as follows: Trustees, Dr Richard Wooldridge, Theresa Byles, Mike Bentley and Julie Miller, Business Development Manager. Committee, Marie Belsey, Chairman, Paul Bonnici, Heritage Manager, Theresa Byles Treasurer, John Lynn Membership Secretary, Bill Geller Publicity. We have several vacancies including a team Secretary (Details of the role are on our website) and Committee Members. The Friends of the MOOT HALL is the gold standard for small not-for-profit groups in Maldon and you would be sharing the satisfaction of helping to maintain this historic building for future generations of Maldonians and visitors.

Also, in late October and November the MOOT HALL will be jointly hosting with the Maeldune Heritage Centre the Danger Tree Art Exhibition opening on Saturday 27th October until Sunday 18th November from 10am – 4pm, Tuesday – Sunday. This is a ‘must see’ ground-breaking event created by award winning artists Scarlet Raven and Marc Marot and previously showcased in London, Manchester, Belfast and Liverpool, commemorating the centenary of the end of World War One.
